Well, here are some that I recommend, from the last few months of reading.

Books:

"Blue Like Jazz" by Donald Miller
"The Sacred Romance" and "The Journey of Desire" both by John Eldredge.
"The Screwtape Letters" C.S. Lewis
"Surprised by Joy" C.S. Lewis
I'm currently in the beginning of reading "God's Politics" by Jim Wallis (of Sojourners)

Nothing very new, but this is what's been in my CD player lately:
"The Way We Are" Fleming and John (went through a bout of not listening to them, now I'm back with a vengeance)
"Mermaid Avenue" Billy Bragg and Wilco
"Little Earthquakes" Tori Amos
"Don't Be Shallow" Sondre Lerche
and b/c I got it in the mail yesterday, the Sigur Ros cd. yummy. :)

Did you know that Dave from Pedro has new music out? He's now with Headphones. It's supposedly a more electronic pop type of thing than we're used to, but pulseetc.com said this about them:

"Headphones pretty much sound like Pedro-the-Casio-Loving-Lion, the beats here just as slow and mournful as the rhythms of Bazan’s more organic material, and the old school synth and drum sounds are nowhere near “techno.”"

so not too shabby. :)

that's a cute kid you got there, efw. it was good to hear from you on my blog. so here's a bit of my current listening/reading tastes:

Books:
Franny and Zooey by J.D. Salinger (rereading-I highly recommend it)
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams (reread, since it had been a long time)
God's Politics by Jim Wallis (good stuff-the closest i've found to a view on politics that i could get behind)
Gandhi's autobiography
The Crucified God by Jurgen Moltmann (i've been slogging through this one for a while now)

Music:
Iron & Wine- The Woman King
Sigur Ros- ()
The Shins- Oh, Inverted World
Jeff Buckley- Grace
Coldplay (awaiting the new album) and Radiohead, as usual

Eric!!! It's been a while. I am so happy about Zoe! I've talked to your mom a couple of times about her. We are coming to South GA this week. I hope we get to see you and her. Anyway, this is my first attempt at 'blogging' so I hope it all works out!
